Hammond Health truly does deserve the terrible reviews. The visits themselves were, considering the one star rating, not terrible--however the cost is abysmal. The doctors and nurses were nice, however I was never told that the flu test I was recommended would cost $355. It would have been nice if when they asked if I would like them to run a flu test if I was made aware it was cost so damn much. I absolutely never would have consented to it at that rate.

The actual care I got from the doctors and nurses here has been fantastic - much more thorough than what I recieved at the nearest urgent care However, I do have to knock off 2 stars for 2 things 1) This place has the most asinine way to make appointments I've ever experienced. Either you call at exactly 8am and get an appointment for the same day, or you can't get an appointment until 2 weeks later. If you call even 15 minutes after 8am, you'll probably be out of luck. 2) The provider change makes students pay more than they did before

All they did was test me for covid and the flu and despite listening to my lungs and me laying out the symptoms I was experiencing of walking pneumonia. Ended up being hospitalized weeks later for severe pneumonia which has required more than a 10 days in the hospital so far….

I haven't had any absolutely horrible experiences with Hammond until now. I scheduled a follow up with my doctor and whoever booked my appointment sent me to the wrong doctor. How do you send a patient to the wrong provider? I rescheduled again for a virtual appointment with the right doctor and no one showed up. My doctor thought it was an in-person appointment and refused to meet with me virtually despite my request and assurance from the nurse who rescheduled for me. My class schedule and living situation make it extremely difficult to attend appointments here and I'm disappointed at the lack of competence and professionalism. Nobody communicates with anybody else. Half the time I've been asked to come in for testing the nurse can't even tell me why my doctor even requested it. A total waste of time.

Love Hammond health center and all the doctors! The doctors are so sweet, helpful, and smart. However, the receptionist is iffy...I wouldn’t want her as the face of my company. She was rude to me on the phone while I was making my appointment, rude to me when I was trying to pick up my medication, then rude on the phone to someone else while I was in the waiting room. She was talking to me as if I’m stupid and totally gives off negative vibes for those who are just sick. But don’t let her negative image keep you from the amazing inside of Hammond health center! Doctors are some of the most amazing people you could ever meet.
